Information for your arrival and stay
General Travel Information:
The Maierl-Alm is located at 1225 m on a plateau in the ski area Kitzbühel / Kirchberg and is accessible year-round by car. The road to the Maierl-Alm, the "Krinbergweg" and its extension of "Krinberg" is a tarmac road.
You can also leave your car in the car park P1 at the turnoff to the mountain railway or in the garage of the municipality Kirchberg (Costs of the underground car park of Kirchberg are approximately € 22.00 per week). We can pick you up from there. Our shuttle service is free of charge for our guests at arrival and departure. To avoid delays, we ask you, if possible, to make an appointment at our reception desk. Travel by GPS:
When you enter our address into your navigation device, please note that there are two roads with very similar names. The raod "Krinbergweg" (lower part of the mountain road) and the "Krinberg" (top part of the road) get easily mixed up. The Maierl-Alm & Chalets have the address "Krinberg 14, A-6365 Kirchberg in Tirol".
Directions from Munich (without vignette!):
From the motorway A8 towards Salzburg, continue after the Inntal triangle (after Irschenberg) on the A93 (A12), continue to the exit "Kufstein Süd". Here, you must take the exit, unless you have a valid vignette glued to your window. If you want to continue on the motorway to "Wörgl Ost", you require a valid vignette! This is verified with electrical imaging cameras and if you continue on the motorway without a vignette, this will be punished 4-6 weeks later with an expensive fine (called substitute toll of € 120,00).
After the exit Kufstein Süd, take the federal highway B171 leading to Kufstein, Wörgl. Here you drive parallel to the motorway to Wörgl (two highway exits). Compared with driving directly on the motorway to "Wörgl Ost", this route takes only 5 minutes longer and you do not need a vignette. At the junction "Wörgl Ost" go right now towards Brixental on the B170 Felbertauern. Follow the signs to Kirchberg (do not follow the directions to Kitzbühel). You will so pass Hopfgarten, Westendorf and Brixen until you reach Kirchberg (in about 20 km).
In Kirchberg, continue towards Aschau at the roundabout. Do not follow the branch to the left to the Maierl mountain railway. There you will only gt to the skiing area, but not to the Maierl-Alm. Proceed towards Aschau and leave the town of Kirchberg. Exactly 1 km after leaving Kirchberg, turn left at the "P1" sign. After 200 meters you come to the valley station of the railway Pengelstein. To the left of the station the mountain road leads to the Maierl-Alm and Chalets. From here the Maierl-Alm & Chalets can be reached in about 3.8 km. Follow the "Maierl" signs on the road. Parking is available in our own garage (entrance height 2.05 m), or on the outdoor parking lot.
Occupation of the Chalets and Rooms at the day of arrival:
Your chalet, apartment or room is usually available on the day of your arrival from 4 pm. Feel free to arrive already in the morning, leave your car with us and spend the day hiking in the area, on the golf course, on our sunny terrace or in the wellness area (swimming pool, sauna, steam room, etc.). Our reception will create the appropriate access cards for you.
